Baseball Scholarship Banquet

Telemundo Atlanta hosted a beautiful breakfast banquet at the Hank Aaron Terrance in Truist Park for all the finalists, their families, and sponsors that were a part of the Baseball Scholarship Tryouts. At the banquet, Attorneys Keren Barrios and Jorge Virgüez awarded the top 6 best high school players for their baseball athletic abilities, providing the Grand Prize Winner with a $5,000 scholarship, and the runner-ups with $1,000. In addition to presenting the scholarship to each player, Barrios Virgüez Attorneys had the opportunity to take some of the team and their families on a tour of Truist Park and learn about the history and architecture of the facility.

Telemundo Atlanta sponsored an event providing the opportunity for local high school baseball players to try out for a baseball scholarship. Along with Telemundo, Barrios Virguez Attorneys and Los Bravos committed to giving back to the Hispanic community with a $5000 scholarship awarded to one exceptional Atlanta student-athlete. Attorney Jorge Virguez and coaches from several Georgia Universities came together to host tryouts and give each student the chance to showcase their different talents on and off the field including, Athletic Ability, Academic Performance, and Motivation. Finalists were chosen based on a combination of the judges’ scores and the number of votes received via online and were then invited to a banquet hosted by Telemundo where the scholarship winner was announced.

Attorney Keren Barrios joined the Latin American Association (LAA) to award the Entrepreneur of the Year from their Latina Empowerment Program. This program supported by the Coca-Cola Foundation and created in 2014, is designed for Latina Women with the purpose of offering women the opportunity to use their experience, talents, skills, and interests in achieving personal and professional growth in the U.S. Every year, the LAA hosts a conference called “Volando Alto” (Flying High) that showcases different women-owned businesses and awards them for their achievements and aid in the community. During the conference, Keren Barrios awarded Neyda Cañizales $1,000 for showing significant leadership and ambition towards her business, ING Links. In addition to the winner, three other entrepreneurs were also awarded $500 for their hard work; Amarilys Gonzalez of AMA SPA, Lina Sucerquia of LATINTAX SERVICES, and Niurka Rosa of MI ESTILO DE FIESTA.
