Barrios Virguez’s community projects have included a 2022 Telemundo event for high school baseball athletes. The firm worked in tandem with Telemundo Atlanta and Los Bravos to sponsor a student-athlete from Atlanta’s Hispanic Community.
Barrios Virguez’s representative, Jorge Virgüez, worked with local universities to watch student-athlete showcases before selecting a scholarship recipient. Observers ranked students’ performances based on their Athletic Ability, Academic Performance, and Personal Motivation.
After students completed their showcases, they were treated to a Telemundo Atlanta-sponsored banquet at Hank Aaron Terrace. There, attorneys Jorge Virgüez and Keren Barrios awarded six students $5,000 in scholarships. Runners-up received $1,000 in academic support.
Engaging with young people and their athletic ambitions allows Barrios Virguez to better support students’ pursuit of their goals. The firm celebrates these students’ dedication to physical fitness and looks forward to seeing their success on and off the baseball diamond.
Spring Latin Fest

Last Saturday, on May 4th, we had the pleasure of participating in the Spring Latin Fest held in the city of Augusta, Georgia. It was an incredible experience, brimming with rich culture and boundless joy.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the event was the opportunity to connect with our clients in person, sharing smiles and stories. Additionally, we were honored to lend a helping hand to others seeking legal guidance, reinforcing our commitment to serving our community.

Baseball Scholarship Banquet

Telemundo Atlanta hosted a beautiful breakfast banquet at the Hank Aaron Terrance in Truist Park for all the finalists, their families, and sponsors that were a part of the Baseball Scholarship Tryouts. At the banquet, Attorneys Keren Barrios and Jorge Virgüez awarded the top 6 best high school players for their baseball athletic abilities, providing the Grand Prize Winner with a $5,000 scholarship, and the runner-ups with $1,000. In addition to presenting the scholarship to each player, Barrios Virguez Attorneys had the opportunity to take some of the team and their families on a tour of Truist Park and learn about the history and architecture of the facility.

Telemundo Atlanta sponsored an event providing the opportunity for local high school baseball players to try out for a baseball scholarship. Along with Telemundo, Barrios Virguez Attorneys and Los Bravos committed to giving back to the Hispanic community with a $5000 scholarship awarded to one exceptional Atlanta student-athlete. Attorney Jorge Virguez and coaches from several Georgia Universities came together to host tryouts and give each student the chance to showcase their different talents on and off the field including, Athletic Ability, Academic Performance, and Motivation. Finalists were chosen based on a combination of the judges’ scores and the number of votes received via online and were then invited to a banquet hosted by Telemundo where the scholarship winner was announced.

Barrios Virguez’s community engagement extends into the world of legal practice. As of 2022, Keren Barrios collaborated with the Latin American Association (LAA) to award a member of the association’s Latina Empowerment Program with “Entrepreneur of the Year.” This award initially debuted in 2014 with support from the Coca-Cola Foundation.
In 2022, Barrios helped celebrate Neyda Cañizales of ING Links at LAA’s annual “Voland Alto” conference. Cañizales came away with $1,000 to put toward her business. Other winners, including AMA SPA’s Amarilys Gonzalez, LATINTAX SERVICE’s Lina Sucerquia, and MI ESTILO DE FIESTA’s Niurka Rosa, received $500 in financial support.
Keren Barrios and Barrios Virguez applaud these women and look forward to continuing to celebrate the community’s success in the years to come.
